Introduction:

In the dynamic landscape of the Indian beverage market, Cipla introduced Prolyte, a fruit-based energy drink, in 2020. Recognizing an evolving need in the market, Cipla now seeks to expand its product range by venturing into the sports and performance drink segment. This new offering is specially crafted to cater to the energy requirements of everyday active professionals. Our task is to design the structural packaging for the 500ml PET bottle, ensuring it communicates unmistakable sports performance cues while catering to the practical needs of its consumers.

Design Concept:

Prolyte has long been known for doing one thing well – replenishing and rehydrating. But with active lifestyles becoming the norm and hydration being redefined as fuel, it was time to take Prolyte beyond its clinical origins and into the world of movement. This packaging design marks that shift, from functional rehydration to hydration built for performance.

The new structure had to do more than hold liquid. It needed to signal the category it now wants to belong to – sports, energy and everyday activity. So the bottle was designed to feel athletic in both form and intent.

Its bold, muscular silhouette introduces a distinct shelf presence, built to stand apart in a space dominated by sleek or sterile forms. Broad shoulders, sculpted sides and dynamic surface cuts lend it a sense of motion, even while standing still. These visual cues borrow from the language of strength and stamina, qualities every performance product aims to represent.

But the transformation was not just visual. It was also practical.

Designed for people on the move, whether at the gym, on the field or in transit, the bottle features a tactile grip zone for single hand use, allowing users to grab, sip and continue without breaking stride. The ergonomic contouring supports control and comfort, while the broad base ensures stability with ease.

Everything about the structure is built with one idea in mind: energy that fits into real life.
